Financial support for your out-of-court divorce

Add a financial professional to your divorce team

If your finances are complex, or you need help getting up to speed on what the finances mean, consider adding a financial expert to your divorce team. We help clients organize their financial information and then develop and analyze different asset division scenarios (“what if you keep this, and your ex gets that?”). We also help clients understand how a monthly maintenance or child support payment will impact their ability to make ends meet each month.

Often when we work with a single spouse, financial education is paramount. Our clients are often at a disadvantage in the divorce negotiation because they know less about the household finances than their spouse. We help to even the playing field by educating our clients about what the financial information means and how different settlement scenarios may impact their ability to achieve short-term and long-term goals.

At this time, we are not offering expert witness work. This means that we are unable to work for individuals who anticipate that their divorce will go to court. If your divorce is highly contentious and may go to court, we can refer you to financial professionals better suited for your circumstances.

Retirement analysis

For individuals approaching retirement age, retirement readiness is a major consideration. Clients frequently ask:

  1. Will the property settlement be enough for me to retire?

  2. How will spousal support impact my retirement?

  3. Do I need to go back to work?

  4. Should I be saving more each year?

  5. Am I still on track to retire?

A retirement analysis can help pull all the financial pieces together and illustrate how the divorce settlement may impact your ability to meet your retirement goals.
